New Beginnings Church has a women's book club that meets monthly. As of now, we are meeting online via Zoom and have been reading mostly Christian fiction books. Email Debbie Witman if you are interested in joining us.
Our August read is The Heart of a King : The Loves of Solomon by Jill Eileen Smith and is a Biblical fiction selection. After the meeting on August 25th, the church library will have 2 copies available for checkout. This book brings to life four women who Solomon loved, Naamah, the mother of Rehoboam, who became king after Solomon died, Abishag, a shepherdess, Siti, who was the daughter of a pharaoh and Nicaula, the Queen of Sheba.
On Tuesday September 22nd, we will read a book of our choice. Come prepared to share what you chose, whether you would recommend the book and/or what you liked or didn't like about the book. Hopefully, it will give us some suggestions of books to read.
